Scale Motorcycle Modelling Introduction
Tamiya RCV
Model built and painted by Tamiya

Pictures of my models can be seen in the gallery. I build mainly models by Tamiya in 1/12 scale like the one on the left. I'm not up to that standard but I enjoy it anyway.
My photos aren't of the highest quality either but you get an idea.

Where To Buy From?
A lot of people say you should support your local model shop, but with the small range my local shop hold and their exorbitant prices, I don't bother anymore. I've started buying mail order direct from Japan mainly from HobbyLink Japan. You can buy models before they're released in the UK for about £7 off the price here including delivery. The older models which are hard to find in the UK are even cheaper.

Next up is the Suzuki RGV500 which Kenny Roberts piloted

I've started cleaning up the bodywork but I might leave off painting it now because of the way the weather affects the paint.

Well worth a look for some techniques.

At last a new MotoGP bike from Tamiya which isn't a Honda RCV. We're getting Rossi's Yamaha YZR M1 and it'll be available in November with decals for Rossi and Abe. Cost is set to be 2500 Japanese Yen but some of the mail order companies are doing it a bit cheaper for pre orders.
Presumably Studio 27 will get the proper Gauloises stickers out and maybe the Fortuna ones too.

First Pictures are now coming out of Japan for this new model. The two pictures here are Tamiya builds. Information on the model here.

Honda RC211V Rossi Valencia

Seems like Tamiya have been listening. Their new RCV is going to be a full 2003 model with the proper exhaust and the decals to fit the Valencia paintjob of Rossi's Austen Powers bike.
That will make it a hell of a lot cheaper than buying the exhausts and sticker kits from Studio 27. Price is set to be 2600 Yen with a release date for June
. Full details here.

Honda RC211V Exhaust
Finally we have a solution to the inaccuracy of the latest 2003 Honda RC211V kits from Tamiya. Studio 27 have released the open pipes for this kit. They're fabricated from metal and don't come cheap but decals are included as well. Price from HLJ is £12.77 with postage of £1.94. The racing stand set from Studio 27 has been available for a while now so why not combine that with their photoetched upgrade kit for a really expensive model! The stand costs £11.23 and the photoetch sheet £9.19.

New Accessories

A company called El Oso has made a GP rider model from resin. There are two kits available at the moment slightly differing but both are waiting on the start line as opposed to being in a racing crouch. This racing figure will be available later. MediaMix are selling them. Decals aren't included.

Rossi Valencia 2003 Decal kit
Studio 27 have finally released the Rossi Austin Powers decal kit from the 2003 Valencia MotoGP round. It costs 1600 Yen from HLJ.
